Job Hunting – Again

Well, it was only a matter of time. Mr. Martini’s temp job came to an end, and he’s looking for work again. He’s been sending out his resume and making calls, as well as searching the internet for any lead he can find. I’m thinking he should go back to school for some sort of medical certificate, since I keep seeing medically-related listings like those for Prosthodontist Jobs. He then informed me that a prosthodontist is a specialist in restoring and replacing teeth, and would take years of schooling. Still – it’s good to keep an open mind, right?

Flowers!

Mr. Martini used to surprise me at work with flowers. I loved it. I loved it when I got the call from the receptionist, who would sing-song “Somebody got some flowers!” into the phone. I loved reading the card, carrying the package back to my desk, arranging them (if they were boxed) or unwrapping them (if they were in a vase) and putting them on my desk.

Roses

Everyone would walk by and see them and comment and sniff the blooms. My desk was instantly more cheerful with a vase full of flowers. I did everything I could to keep those floral arrangements as happy and healthy as possible so they would last and last.

You know, it’s been awhile since Mr. Martini sent me flowers. Our anniversary is this month. Maybe I’ll drop a hint or two. Not that you need a reason to send flowers – sometimes it’s even more fun when they arrive out of the blue!

New Season, New Plans

Hello! I had a great time at my family reunion. I got to hang out with all of these people, and it was a blast:

Now I’m back, with a new job and a new outlook on things. I love fall – even though I’m not in school anymore it just feels very “starting fresh” to me. Here’s to a great autumn for everyone!

Sooner than you Think

I know it’s six months away, but I’m already starting to worry about Christmas. That’s what happens when you’re a crafter. Since you’re making everything by hand instead of buying gifts in a store, it takes longer. So six months isn’t necessarily enough time to finish everything. Granted, it’s easier when you do buy a few things, like Christmas Cards and wrapping paper. But if I want to get all of my knitting and sewing done for the holidays, I need to start soon!

Wish List

I’m already fantasizing about the things we’ll buy when/if Mr. M’s job goes permanent. It’s wishful thinking at this point, but a girl can ponder and make lists, right? One thing I’d love to get is a TV for the bedroom. We only have one tv in the house right now, and for the most part it works out fine. But there are days when Mr. M is playing video games and I’d love to go back to the bedroom, put in a movie, and knit and crochet or sew. I know it’s silly and extravagant, but it’s something I’d really enjoy. So I’m going to keep bookmarking some sites with lg tvs for the future. Like Christmas, maybe?
